Chocolate chip cookies

Prep Time:15 Cook Time: 10

Ingredients:

1 cup, mostly melted unsalted butter

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 egg

2 cups all purpose flour

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp baking soda

1 cup chocolate chips

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375. Line baking sheets with parchment paper

Mix the somewhat melted butter with sugars. Note! You can use room temperature butter for more cakelike, tall cookies, or melt butter completely for super flat cookies but I've found melting it 75% of the way in the microwave has the best of both worlds. Even though every recipe says don't do this...

Add vanilla and egg and beat well.

Add flour, salt and baking soda to batter. Mix briefly, then add chocolate chips and stir until no flour is visible.

You can chill the batter for 1 to 2 hours or bake immediately.

Bake for 8 to 10 mins.

Note! Krista made these cookies growing up from Lola's Bonnie Stern CKFM cookbook. Turns out Nanna had worked on this cookbook and the dedication in the front includes Perry'scousins!
